Joan Davis is President and CEO of the Richmond Community Foundation. She is an experienced executive in managing complex public and private nonprofit organizations – both local and national in scope. Ms. Davis is a native of Omaha, NE and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska where she completed both a BS degree in Psychology/History and a Juris Doctorate degree. Ms. Davis attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and completed an Executive Fellowship program in Community Building.

Jim Becker

Jim Becker attended Grinnell College for his BA and University of Minnesota for his MA in Anthropology. He served as a senior program director for the Minneapolis YMCA. He moved to California in 1990 to serve as the Executive Director of the new Delta Family YMCA in Oakley, CA.

Pamela Horan

Pamela Horan joined the Richmond Community Foundation as Controller in September, 2011. Ms. Horan comes to the Foundation with over 25 years' experience in the areas of accounting, compliance and finance. Pam earned her BA from San Francisco State University and MBA in Accounting from Golden Gate University. Prior to coming to the Foundation, Pam was the Executive Director and Director of Finance for the California State Railroad Museum Foundation in Sacramento, CA. for eight years. During her tenure, she managed several large restoration projects, instituted an annual giving program and launched a successful planned giving program.

David Snyder

David Snyder is Chief Development Officer for the Richmond Community Foundation. Having recently served as Executive Director of the Berkeley Public Library Foundation, Mr. Snyder comes to Richmond with over twenty years of nonprofit management and fundraising experience. In January 2010, Mr. Snyder coordinated the launching of a $3.5 million capital campaign to assist with the renovation of the four branch libraries in Berkeley and in 2011 led the public advocacy campaign to insure that the projects moved forward.

April Suwalsky

April Suwalsky has worked in the community development field for about seven years. In her current post, she leads community engagement activities for the Nystrom United ReVitalization Effort (NURVE), co-plans and implements RCF communications, and works with diverse community stakeholders to identify opportunities and resources for youth and families in Richmond. She holds a Master of City Planning degree from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from Barnard College, Columbia University.

Monica Boyd
