Joan Davis is President and CEO of the Richmond Community Foundation. She is an experienced executive in managing complex public and private nonprofit organizations – both local and national in scope. Ms. Davis is a native of Omaha, NE and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska where she completed both a BS degree in Psychology/History and a Juris Doctorate degree. Ms. Davis attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and completed an Executive Fellowship program in Community Building.

Before moving to Richmond, California in 2001, Ms. Davis lived in Kansas City, MO and worked in the areas of nonprofit management, law and public service – including service as Regional Director for Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation and as a Community Builder Fellow with the US Department of HUD. Ms. Davis moved to California in 2001 as the CEO of Satellite Housing, Inc - a nonprofit housing development corporation based in Berkeley, CA that developed, owned and managed affordable housing with coordinated supportive services. Her additional experience in fund development and program delivery was accomplished as the Director of the North Bay region of the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern CA/Northern NV where she had oversight for programs and services to families impacted by the disease living in Marin, Napa and Sonoma counties.
